0 Clean the toilets: Minister

Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan has complained about the dilapidated and dirty public toilets at Sukawati traditional art market in Gianyar. During his visit to the market last weekend, the minister complained the smelly and dirty toilets would prevent visitors, especially foreigners, from visiting the market. He also stated that the market management should pay attention to providing adequate parking, creating green areas and improving the cleanliness of the market. Opened on May 25, 1985, Sukawati art market was once the center for handicrafts and art objects. The rapid growth of more comfortable and modern art and souvenir shops in Denpasar, Kuta and Nusa Dua has eclipsed the market’s ability to attract customers, leaving the 792 traders almost bankrupt.
